Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be planning, organizing, directing and improving the manufacturing of our control buildings and switchgear lineups. A degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering is preferred.


Responsibilities Continued:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years previous managerial experience in a shop type environment
  • Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude
  • Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, CAD, project management)
  • Demonstrated record of self-motivation and being able to work in a team environment that is fast-paced.
  • Experience with ISO-9001 Quality Systems is a plus.
  • In-Depth knowledge of manufacturing methods and systems
  • Excellent  communications skills (oral & written)
  • B.S. in Electrical / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross functional teams and encourage cultural change.

 

  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
  • Develop step-by-step methods for making the products
  • Use CAD software to develop shop aids
  • Recommend changes in the design of a product to make it easier or less costly to produce
  • Confer with management on production capabilities, schedules, and problems
  • Arrange for purchase of any equipment, materials, or parts that assists the manufacturing process.
  • Able to apply automation techniques to resolve production issues.
  • Identifying, implementing and sustaining safety controls.
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing process documentation.
  • Provide technical support to production lines.
  • Resolve production issues by determining the cause of manufacturing defects/ failures and make recommendations for correction.
  • Document technical and manufacturing information
  • Be a Continuous Improvement Team member supporting daily production activities
  • Understand and apply Lean Manufacturing principles for continuous improvement and elimination of waste and reduction of lead time
  • Develop and design fixtures, tooling, and gages for production processes
  • Provide feedback to design  engineering regarding manufacturability of product designs
  • Provide training to manufacturing team members on manufacturing processes
  • Initiate and implement cost reduction programs related to process methods and technology
  • Participates in weekly meetings
